Claire Eastman Reformer Pilates Instructor London

Claire Eastman

Claire trained with Ballet Rambert and went on to dance with both Pina Bausch and Mischa Bergese’s companies. Since then Claire has worked as an independent commercial choreographer in TV and Film and in commercials and live shows - and for the music industry on live shows, promotional videos and one-to-one artist development.

Claire’s first contact with Pilates was with Alan Heardman in 1986, and from that point, she was hooked. Rupturing her Achilles tendon many years later led Claire to further develop her career in movement - and to deepen her knowledge she decided to train as a Pilates teacher. She is also a Balanced Body Core Align instructor.

Claire is inspired by movement - her love of dance and experience and expertise in choreography has deeply enhanced her practice as a teacher

Claire loves getting people moving and progressing their technique in a down-to-earth, fun, no-nonsense way

Bo Ekstrand

Comprehensive & Clinical Pilates Instructor - Pilates Foundation
CYQ Level 3
Pre & Post Natal Pilates - TTB

Teaching mat and apparatus Pilates, and working with clients of all ages and abilities is inspiring and hugely rewarding. I’m passionate about Pilates for fitness and well-being, but also very much invested in it as a discipline for rehabilitation after illness or injury.

Rebecca Evans

Originally from the States, but 17 years ago, I took the leap across the pond to explore dance and movement here in London, UK.

I was a professional dancer which took me on a 35-year journey of movement. Over this time I watched and worked with many different bodies. Five years ago when I did my Mat Pilates training I brought much of what I learned from dance to my classes – creativity, technique, inclusivity and an absolute joy for movement.

With c-curve scoliosis and a few injuries over the years, I know that every exercise is not right for everybody and work with clients to find the right modification and level for them. In class you will get a fun, flowing, challenging experience for the whole body backed up with some American enthusiasm (awesome has not left my vocabulary yet!).

Currently, I hold certificates in Mat 1, 2 and 3 (Balanced Body)
Reformer 1 and 2 (Balanced Body)
Pre and Post Natal (Jennifer Gianni, Fusion Pilates)
Arc and Pole (Nikki Chrysotomou)

Agata Grzeszczuk

Agata was introduced to Pilates back in 2006 when she became a regular Pilates student in London. As a long-distance runner and keen cyclist, she found Pilates a fantastic addition to cardiovascular exercises but also recognised its important role in injury prevention.

Sport and movement have always played a key role in her life. A gymnast in early childhood and then later a long-distance runner and cyclist, she has grown her passion for exercise over the years. In 2010, she completed her Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training with Balanced Body. In addition, she also holds her REPS Level 2 qualifications, where she specializes in Core Stability and Group Indoor Cycling.

As a Psychologist by background, she likes to apply the aspect of sports psychology and coaching and enjoys motivating and inspiring her clients. She strongly believes that a healthy body is the key to a healthy mind and that exercise and physical activity can bring something worthwhile into everybody’s life.

Agata's sessions are individually designed to target the key objective of each client. Although she loves working with a wide range of clients of all ages, her particular interest lies in working with already active clients, who are looking for additional challenge, low impact and highly effective injury prevention set of exercises. She believes that Pilates is a long-term life investment.

Sharon Shayshutt

A keen interest in movement from my dance background and pregnancy related back pain following the birth of my second baby, led me to Pilates and I felt the benefits almost immediately. I am still feeling those benefits 22 years later. I decided to train to be a teacher of this wonderful method and qualified with Body Control Pilates (BCP) in 2004. I was then asked by Lynne Robinson, the founder of BCP, to appear in her DVD and book ‘Pregnancy in Pilates’ while expecting my third child.

Since that time, I have furthered my Pilates education with BCP and BASI (Body Arts and Science) to be fully studio trained on all equipment with students at every level and ability, including pre-natal and post natal mums. I am committed to continuing my professional development, taking regular classes and workshops with master teachers like Amit Younger, owner and founder of Yoopod online classes www.yoood.com - in which I also appear taking some of the classes.

Other teacher/trainers and master teachers like Keren Peer, Benjamin Degenhardt, Tom McCook, Elizabeth Larkham, Zachery Dacuk and Deborah Lessen, continue to influence my training and inform my teaching. Since learning and practising the Deborah Lessen method – a third generation Pilates teacher based in New York - this has become my preferred way of teaching. I have seen amazing changes in my clients’ and students’ bodies.

I am a fully insured member of REPS and hold current CPR certification.

Kayla Somers reformer and mat work pilates instructor in London

Kayla Somers

Hi, I’m Kayla, an APPI, Unite Health qualified reformer and mat work pilates instructor. I started my pilates journey in Australia in a lovely studio on the banks of the beautiful Coloundra beachside. I fell in love and have been teaching pilates for three years since then, teaching every type of body from the elderly to the fast paced, fit, folk in London city centre. I have a traditional approach to pilates; focusing on the slow, controlled, movements that encourage healthy joints, perfect alignment, safe movement, and functional strength of our muscles.

MASSAGE THERAPISTS

Helena Berndl

Medical Massage Therapist, MSci Neuroscience

Helena trained as a medical massage therapist in her home country Austria, where she worked in collaboration with the Austrian national and private health services. She moved to London in 2005 and started practising in clinics and health clubs, including First Physio, Natureworks, The Bowskill Clinic, Virgin Active and The Hilton Park Lane, until she found her new home at Manchester Square Studios.

Helena’s work involves treatment of patients suffering from sports injuries, musculoskeletal dysfunction, neurological disorders (including post-stroke impairments, cerebral palsy, peripheral nerve injuries), lymphedema, as well as post- operative rehabilitative therapy following orthopaedic surgeries. Her treatment techniques include Deep Tissue Massage, Connective Tissue Massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Reflexology and Kinesio Taping.

Through her work with patients Helena developed a strong wish to gain a more profound understanding of nervous system physiology and pathology. She decided to return to full-time study and graduated from UCL with an MSci in Neuroscience in 2015. Her 3rd year dissertation on muscular pain and final year laboratory project in the field of peripheral nervous tissue engineering allowed her to gain scientific knowledge in these fields, brilliantly complementing her work as a medical massage therapist.
